Course Overview

The NAIR responders’ course aims to provide NAIR response staff, from organisations volunteering their services to NAIR, with information which will assist their planning for and responding to requests for assistance under the Arrangements. The course covers the operational aspects of the arrangements and goes into detail about the practicalities of responding to a ‘NAIR incident’. The course dose not aim to provide radiological protection training, rather complement existing knowledge. The course is also an opportunity to discuss response issues with other responders. Each course is limited to 16 delegates in order to promote delegate participation, especially during the practical exercises using simulated radiation.
