World-class research and advice on the health effects of ionising and non-ionising radiation

UKHSA's Radiation Effects department has extensive expertise relating to the health effects of ionising and non-ionising radiations. In addition we offer a range of consultancy, research and development, training and software products. All of these are provided to industry, government and academic partners. UKHSA's specialist staff have a wealth of experience and are an authoritative source of advice to regulators, the public and others.

Radiation Effects staff carry out research and provides advice related to the health and biological effects of ionising and non-ionising radiations; we also provide a service for individual radiation exposure assessment, the Chromosome dosimetry service. The Department is headed by Liz Ainsbury and Christophe Badie.
