Antonella completed her undergraduate and masters at the University of Leicester, focussing on biochemistry and cancer studies. With her PhD looking at the way in which senescence can affect radiosensitivity in NSCLC patients, also at the University of Leicester, began her interest in the field of radiation effects. Antonella joined the Cancer Mechanisms and Biomarkers group in 2021 and since then has been involved in a variety of different projects, with a particular interest in novel approaches of detecting radiation dose and biomarkers of radiation. She is also working on models of radiation carcinogenesis, more specifically radiation leukemogenesis, studying the effect of radiation on the expansion of pre-leukaemic clones and the risk of transition to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
