Grainne obtained her PhD from Brunel University (UK) where she focused on investigating the genetic and epigenetic pathways affected in the development of acute myeloid leukaemia after radiation exposure. Grainne has been involved in numerous RENEB European exercises using our gene expression assay to provide rapid dose estimates. She is currently expanding her expertise and developing single cell gene expression assays. She participated in or lead many research projects such as identifying gene expression biomarkers of radiation exposure using a range of technologies and investigating the effect of low doses of radiation on the hematopoietic stem cell populations.
