Compress your learning into two intensive days at UKHSA's Chilton training centre. We provide comprehensive training presented by the UKHSA PC-CREAM^® development staff.

The course enables users to carry out dose assessments for discharges of radionuclides into the environment that occur under normal operating conditions and provide an understanding of the models and methods implemented in the software.

Course Programme

• An overview of the product, divided into two main parts: 'Models' of dispersion in the environment and 'ASSESSOR' which estimates doses from environmental concentrations
• Discussion of application feature sets and limitations
• A series of presentations discussing in detail the models and data used in each part of the software
• Demonstrations of running the 'Models' and 'ASSESSOR' parts of the software
• Practical exercises
• Analysis and discussion of results
• The course concludes with a full radiological impact assessment designed to simulate that required for a typical discharge authorisation and to enable students to test their understanding of the software.
• Gain an awareness of the strengths and limitations of the software, how to apply it appropriately and how to use it to carry out radiological impact assessments
• Understand the models and methods used to calculate doses and how to interpret the results
