The UKHSA RPA service offers practical, up to date and quality assured radiation protection advice to employers in industry, education, and veterinary, dental and medical workplaces across the UK.
Certificated Radiation Protection Advisers are required to maintain competency, and this may be achieved through demonstrating continuing professional development. The Professional Development module currently comprises of two courses designed to achieve this requirement.
Participants of the Continuing Professional Development Scheme of the Society for Radiological Protection (SRP) will be entitled to claim Continuous Professional Development points. Students completing this module receive course certificates. No formal written examination is required.
The course provides an opportunity for certificated Radiation Protection Advisers to refresh or update their knowledge in a practical scenario orientated workshop with reduced focus on lecturing. This provides delegates the opportunity to address novel radiation protection situations and apply their established skills with the objective of stretching candidates as they develop solutions and strategies. Expert radiation protection professionals will facilitate, guide and advise delegates as they consider these scenarios in syndicate groups.
The Radiological Protection Training Scheme is a development framework providing an essential knowledge base for all radiation protection professionals.
