Overview

UKHSA is the UK's primary authority carrying out research to advance knowledge about protection from the risks of radiation. In addition we have been integral in establishing global Non-Ionising Radiation (NIR) safety standards.

This one-day course provides an up to date overview of the Physical Agents (Electromagnetic Fields) Directive. This Directive lays down the minimum health and safety requirements for exposure of workers to electromagnetic fields, and will be implemented into UK legislation in 2016.

Programme

The aim of the course is to help inform stakeholders, in preparation for the transposition of the Directive in the UK. It is intended for those who need to become familiar with the general requirements of the Directive and its obligations on employers. Furthermore, a representative of the HSE will present a talk on the proposed legislative framework in the UK and the plans for transposition.
