Laser Safety Awareness Course

This short course provides an introduction to laser safety. It covers the hazards associated with lasers in the workplace, and the steps required to ensure lasers are used safely. No previous experience in laser safety is required.

Sun, Sunbeds and Lasers

This course highlights public health issues and practical safety practices surrounding both new and old sources of ultraviolet and laser radiation. In more recent years, artificial optical radiation, and in particular ultraviolet and laser radiation, has found many new applications. This fully interactive course includes discussion on the basic concepts, devices, regulations and issues surrounding optical radiation.

Control of Aesthetic Lasers, Sunbeds and Light Shows

This is a short course for Local Authority Environmental Health Officers and other Safety Regulators. It provides an introduction to the measures required to control the use of aesthetic lasers, sunbeds and light shows in the public domain. No previous experience in laser or optical radiation safety is required.

Artificial Optical Radiation - A practical route forward

A one day course written and presented by the authors of the European Commission guide to the Artificial Optical Radiation Directive. The course provides delegates with an overview of optical radiation sources, the requirements of the Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work 2010 regulations and introduces a systematic and practical approach to the assessment of risks from such sources, aimed at enabling the majority of employers to fulfil their duties under the regulations.

Laser Safety Course

This two-day residential course run in conjunction with Loughborough University offers comprehensive coverage of the important aspects of laser safety. It provides an excellent foundation for those new to laser safety and for experienced users. The course is also an ideal introduction to the more advanced five-day Laser Safety Management Course.

This five-day residential course run in conjunction with Loughborough University teaches students how to implement a Laser Safety Management Programme for a wide range of laser application. This course also provides comprehensive training in support of the British Standards for laser safety and general safety legislation.

It covers public and occupational radiation exposure issues associated with the distribution and use of electricity, as well as new and emerging wireless technologies.

Radiofrequency (RF) Fields Safety Awareness

A one-day specialist course presenting the hazards associated with radiofrequency (RF) sources such as broadcast and telecommunications antennas and microwave dishes. Practical guidance on exposure and risk assessment, and procedures for safe working practices and emergency arrangements are presented.
